Within the Telford & Wrekin area, there is a full range of educational facilities from pre-school to University level, providing lifelong learning for all.
The Borough of Telford & Wrekin has responsibility for the schools in Telford and Newport, and the rest of the county is looked after by Shropshire County Council. Both authorities work closely together and have set up a number of joint arrangements that aim to provide a dedicated commitment to the needs of children and young people.
The Council supports the view that inclusive education is an approach to education that seeks to enable all children to have their educational needs met within their local school. And it believes it is also an effective way to combat discretionary attitudes that contributes towards the creation of welcoming and inclusive communities.
Finding the right school is an important consideration for parents relocating to a new area and requires thorough research. Examination results, although important, do not give the full picture; the real test is whether the establishment will make the best of your child’s abilities, and whether your child will be happy.
